Vegetables – A Taste of the Country” was my first foray into the world of publishing and food writing. I loved writing about fresh vegetables at a time where few people used eggplants, okra or even kumera! I was next asked to write the recipes for Bryce Courtenay’s “The Family Frying Pan” which was a tale of his great-grandmother’s flight across eastern Europe with a frying pan on her back, persued by the Cossacks.

In 1999 Hodder Headline invited me to create 50 low GI recipes for a ground breaking new book, “The New Glucose Revolution Lifeplan” by Professor Jennie Brand Miller. Little did I know at the time that it would top Australia’s best selling book list, and become a bible for diabetics, and those wanting to lose weight and improve their health. This lead to rewriting the recipes and creating new ones for Jennie’s first book “The New Glucose Revolution”.
